Battle of Craney Island

The Battle of Craney Island was fought on June 22, 1813 in Norfolk County, Virginia. Join us as we reenact one of the greatest American victories of the War of 1812! Historic Fort Norfolk (ca. 1795) consists of 4 acres owned and operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The reenactment will be open free to the public Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.

Reenactors portraying US Regulars, US Marines, Virginia Militia, civilians, and British Army, Royal Navy Sailors and Marines will be on site doing living history displays, drills, and tactical demonstrations! Several structures will be open for free self guided tours.

Reenactors may stay on site Friday and Saturday in the barracks or in tents. There will be sutlers on site selling food, clothing, and reproductions from the time period.
